A PROMISE TO ALLAH

Today I promise to act better,

And follow a path that's much sweeter.

I'll be stronger in my religion,

And work harder toward my vision.

I won't walk that path again,

Or let my heart be filled with pain.

I'm beautiful, worthy, and deserve the best,

And will only accept genuine love and nothing less.

I'll stand by my principles, now more than ever,

And strive to be a woman of my word forever.

I'll keep a distance from anything that's not pure,

And stay away from places that are risky for sure.

I'll pray to Allah to let go of those who aren't worth,

And stand tall and bold, to show my true worth.

I won't engage in anything outside marriage,

And won't let anyone touch me where religion forbids.

Today I become better in all aspects,

Acknowledging Allah as my shield and protector, no less.

I appreciate Allah for standing by me,

For enabling me to find myself and be free.

Today I leave off all that's been keeping me down,

And embrace a new me, with a smile and no frown.

All praise is to Allah, the one who's given me beneficial knowledge,

And helped me on my journey.
